This is not a crisis
The dotcom bubble burst in 2000 offered me the opportunity to work on tradeplace.com. A business to business marketplace that delivered business value from the start and supports more than 7 million transactions per month to date.
The 2008 financial crisis taught me the importance of leadership (our company Oxyma won Deloitte’s best managed company a few years in a row) to weather difficult times while scaling up. It led to me to pursuing my MBA and on the path of systems thinking and sustainable growth.
Today, I think about the bold leaders who are building innovative businesses that deliver positive impact on society — not the kind that deliver a banana in 10 minutes.
The founders who work on serious challenges such as the energy transition, a circular economy, regenerative food systems and healthy, resilient, connected societies.
Don’t let all the pessimistic, gloomy outlooks fool you, I think we need you more than ever.
This is not a crisis.
This is an opportunity.
Bold, forward! 👊
